Meet Remington

I casually mentioned it previously, but recently my husband and I added a new member to our family: little Remington.

Isn't he precious? He was only a few weeks old here.

And here was his poor confused face after we brought him.

No, he isn't actually related to Winchester, but they look so much alike! Winchester is 3/4 blue heeler and 1/4 Australian Shepherd, while Remington is 7/8 blue heeler and 1/8 Australian Shepherd. Both are from accidental litters, both came from friends of ours, but different friends, different litters, and different puppy parents.

We'd been talking about getting Winchester a friend for awhile. He is an incredibly friendly and energetic dog, and we just knew that he needed another dog to be really happy.

We were totally right! From the moment we brought Remington home, Winchester has been fascinated. We were a little concerned because Remington is so tiny compared to Winchester, but for the most part Winchester has been good with him. (Initially he was a little too rough, but he's figured it out.)

They are always playing together, and it is so cute I can't stand it. Remington is always trying to jump on Winchester, barking and running at him. And Winchester plays back, and it is just adorable.

Remington is already growing so quickly! He's a little chunk.

I don't know what I'm going to do when he's full grown. They won't both fit in my lap then!

Yes, this was a bit of a fluffy post today. (Pun intended) It's my last day at my corporate gig, and I'm not quite ready to tell that story. I will be talking all about my new business on Monday, though, so come back then to find out more!

Have a great weekend, friends :)

Snow Days are the Best Days

Snow arrived early this year!

Yes, yesterday we actually got a couple of inches of snow here at the house. Of course, James was up at his deer lease and had a lot more, but I was happy to get what we did. Winchester was happy too.

He had a blast playing in the snow! He didn't know what to make of it at first, but he really got into it after awhile. Coco enjoyed it too, from her cozy spot on the couch.

As for me, I spent most of the day in front of the fire, watching a Harry Potter marathon. I was devastated when the fifth movie refused to play on the DVD player, but at that point James had finally made it home so we decided to clear out some of the DVR recordings.

It was a pretty fabulous snow day, but I'm afraid we are going to have to get some more firewood. I went through a ton this weekend! I absolutely adore a real wood burning fireplace, don't you?

Winchester Robbins at 24 Weeks

We've had our cute little pup about 16 weeks now, which makes him around 24 weeks old. And he's not so little anymore! He still loves his little swimming pool, digging holes in the yard, car rides, playing catch with a Frisbee, and following James around while he mows the yard. Oh, and he loves having his belly rubbed!

Winchester is a fuzzy ball full of energy and he keeps us busy! We are thinking about obedience school, though. He needs a bit of training...he likes to jump on people to say hello, nearly pull my arm out of socket on his leash, and he hasn't learned commands beyond sit. Any suggestions on obedience school for puppies this age? He's getting a little old for basic puppy school, I think!
