24 Hour Readathon: How It Went

Well, I read for about 17 and half hours, finished three and half books which totaled over 1,100 pages. I didn't read the entire time. I took breaks and here there, and I tried to read while I cooked and played with Winchester in the backyard.

While I had a lot of fun, I wasn't quite as successful as I wanted to be. I really wanted to finish that last book, but I gave up around 12:30 am. I was 350 pages into the 500 page book and I knew there was no way I was going to make it.

So what did I read?

First, the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime. I didn't care for the book much, but it was interesting. I'll share more about it in next month's Twitterature.

Next, I started My Life in France. I read about a third of it, and then I got really hungry. Of course, because I was reading about all kinds of rich and delicious French food. So I put the book down and made some breakfast.

Instead of going back to My Life, I started Z a Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald. This book definitely had an interesting perspective on F. Scott and Zelda, especially on the relationship between Scott and Ernest Hemingway. (More in next month's Twitterature post.)

After Z, I went back to My Life and finished it up around 9 PM or so. Then I started the White Princess. That was the book I gave up on around 12:30. I'm going to finish it this week, and I'll share my thoughts later.

The next Readathon is April 25, 2015. I'll be participating, you should too! If you like reading, that is :)
