New Monthly Linkup (for me): Twitterature July 2014

Now that the crazy wedding planning season is over, I'm finding myself with time to actually sit down and read on a regular basis again. I never stopped reading of course, but I've been able to get through more books lately. So I thought it would be nice to link up with Modern Mrs Darcy for her monthly reading link-up.

The Martian - I'm not quite done with this one yet, but I'm really liking it! I'm discovering that I actually like these type of novels more than I realized. (Like the Cuckoo's Calling - I liked that much more than I thought I would.) I think Anne described it the most succinct way possible: "Think Cast Away, morphed into an outer space adventure story." The Martian by Andy Weir is currently on sale for the Kindle for $9.99.

What Alice Forgot - Yes, I've already mentioned this on the blog. But I loved it that much! It's a great and quick read, definitely one to take to the lake or pool with you. What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty is currently on sale for the Kindle for $7.99.

David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants - I always like Malcolm Gladwell books. They make you think, and this one is no different. The Big Fish in the Little Pond vs the Little Fish in the Big Pond sections was the best for me. This one is available for the Kindle for $14.99. I'd check out your local library first!

Notes From a Blue Bike: The Art of Living Intentionally in a Chaotic World - This is another one I've mentioned previously. It made me really consider this whole "living simply" concept that keeps popping up. I'm sure this will come up again soon... Notes from a Blue Bike by Tsh Oxenreider is currently $14.99 for the Kindle. If that's too pricey for you, keep an eye out. I picked it up on sale, so maybe it will go on a short sale again soon.

#GIRLBOSS - I blew through this book during my lunch breaks recently. It's empowering, inspirational, (I don't mean in a faith-based way, though) and the kick in the pants I needed. Totally recommend it. #GIRLSBOSS by Sophia Amoruso is currently on sale for the Kindle for $10.99. This is the lowest I've seen it so far!

And I think that's it! Can't wait to dig into my next stack of books, but I'm always open to suggestions. What is the best book you've read lately?
