The Bangs are Back

Well, I did it! Yesterday I went to my favorite hair stylist (if you are in the OKC area I'll pass her info on to you if you want, she's fantastic) and got my bangs back.

It's been less than 24 hours and I'm still mostly happy with the decision. Mostly because I'd forgotten what a pain it is to pull the bangs back to wash your face and because it was hot last night when I got in my car and the forehead sweat began. But other than that, I'm loving them so far! Everyone else seems to be liking them too. I went to Sonic after my hair cut and the cute little car hop told me I was very pretty, which is just the encouragement I needed after the big hair decision :)

Now if you need me, I'll be over here messing with these bangs. They take some getting used to!

Friday, I'm in Love: Bangs

Ok y'all, I'm having a dilemma. I have finally grown out my bangs. If you've ever had bangs, you know what a huge accomplishment that is. Really, it is!

I've liked not having bangs for the most part. I really grew them out for the wedding so I wouldn't have them in my face the whole time.

But I love bangs. I've had bangs on and off for years, starting as a very young girl as you'll see below. In elementary school I had those stacked curled bangs that were atrocious, in junior high a friend cut bangs into my hair before class one day, and after college I rocked some Zooey Deschenal bangs for awhile. Here are a few looks I've had over the years.

Yes, that's some vintage bangs there. Check out my lime green jellies too, y'all.

I try to avoid bangs in the summer because sweat and bangs do not get along, at least not with my natural curly hair. But it's fall and I want bangs! So help me out. I have an appointment for a hair cut next week. Bangs? Or no bangs?

Friday, I'm In Love: Established Necklace

I keep getting compliments on the necklace I ordered for the wedding, so today I'd thought I'd share where it came from.

I ordered the necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs back in March. I ordered it to wear at the wedding reception, but I've worn it quite often since then. I think it was a limited-time special, because I can't find it on the website now. But they have other really cute necklaces available, like this classic monogram one

What I love about Lisa's necklaces is the quality. Each piece is hand-stamped and made of high quality metals. I ordered a necklace from her a couple years ago, and I wore that necklace almost every day for a year. It looked just as good at the end of the year as it did at the beginning! Plus you can choose the chain length when you order, which is a huge plus.

I even bought my mom a gift certificate to the shop for Mother's Day because she liked my necklace so much! She ordered an entirely different necklace, but one that is just as cute. I really don't know if I've ever had this many compliments on one piece of jewelry (other than my engagement ring, probably!).

Lisa Leonard is more than just necklaces. Brides, they have some really cute cake toppers. They even have some really cute magnets for Father's Day. So if you're looking for a unique gift for yourself or someone you love, check out her website. Don't forget to sign up for her newsletter so you can get 15%. And Lisa has a great story; read her blog to find out more.

For those wondering, this isn't an ad for the company. I've never met or even had social media contact with Lisa. I just love my necklace and wanted to share :)
